Clan Events List

Highland Games season is in full swing. Have you ever gone to a Highland Games and wondered why your Clan was not represented? Well, the answer is simple; there wasn’t anyone who would volunteer their time and effort to host it for the Clan. The Oliphant Clan and Family Association of North America is looking for people who would like to host a tent at a Games in their area. I have listed many of the Highland Games and Celtic Festivals that are being held during the months of April, May, June, and July. I may have missed one or two. If you see one that you would like to host, please contact me at lanasstewart@gmail.com, and I will send you an information sheet that tells you all about hosting. It’s not hard, it just takes a little time and effort on your part. Let’s get more recognition for Clan Oliphant !

59th Highland Games in Phoenix (Gilbert) Arizona—March 2024

The Phoenix Games were exciting – as always! The weather was warm and there was just enough wind to keep the real hot heat at bay. This was the first year that the Oliphants put up a tent. First thing we did was sent my son on an errand and he came back with a fishing pole. He would go down to the lake at the park and fish for a bit. He also brought along his bull whip and would go snap his whip. He engaged in bull whipping at the Pleasant Games last year. We could hear it from the tent. There were lots of games and food and drink

and fun.

Lots of people filtered in to look at the banners on Saturday. We gave a short history and introduced those famous Oliphants to visi- tors. Lana gave us a heads up that her cousin was going to stop by. Who would have guessed that we would have cousins in Arizona? We also had a closer cousin to Amanda and me visit. He and his wife went to Scotland last year and they said they had a great time. I told him that he shouldn’t miss the gathering in 2026. I also encouraged him to take the DNA test.

We learned a few things so that we can be better in September in Prescott at the AGM.
